Centre Made for Health in Wroclaw from July

From July 4, two modern pavilions will appear in p. Nowy Targ, in which all comers will have the opportunity to, quite unconventionally, check their body condition and learn how to improve their health. This is the Centre Made for Health - a unique facility in the country, available to the citizens of Wroclaw throughout all summer and - what's very important - completely for free.

After Warszawa and Gdańsk, Wroclaw is the third city to host the Centre Made for Health. The Centre's originator (inaugurated two years ago) is a drug manufacturer company USP Zdrowie, which has its factory in Wroclaw, in ul. Ziębicka. "With the centre, we want the Poles to reflect on their health care and change their habits, to inspire them in a novel way to a healthier lifestyle" stresses Izabela Filc-Redlińska, a spokesman for Connectmedica, the contractor of the project.

The 400-metre centre is an innovative project, very technologically advanced, which is to promote knowledge about health. It is a mobile and interactive place. "This idea is perfect for the city health policy and encourages to take care of one's health in a unique way," says Joanna Nyczak, Director of Wroclaw Department of Health and Social Affairs.

What lurks inside the body?

The visitors will have the opportunity to explore the basic parameters of their bodies: check the BMI, the thickness of body fat, body water, bone mineralization, muscle weight as well as to find out the biological age of the organism. Using interactive touch surfaces, the guests will take a look at the structure and functioning of the human body, and the Book of Knowledge will provide interesting facts about the body's functioning. We'll find out, e.g. what is the rhythm of our heart beat or how the woman's body during pregnancy.

The Centre consists of two pavilions, connected with a tunnel (with a terrace in the middle). The green one, overgrown with vegetation, serves as the reception - this is where we submit our first name (only), age and gender to continue to use the devices, for the purposes of checkups. On the other hand, in the white pavilion we will get specific tips on what to do to improve the condition of the body, with the help of multimedia devices. And the fact that there is always something that can be improved is proved by Olympian Mateusz Kusznierewicz, the Centre's ambassador, who visited it in Gdansk last year, shortly after the opening. "At the beginning I took a check-up and was advised to get more exercise. I took it to heart and when two months later I took another check-up, the results were better" admitted Kusznierewicz at the opening conference.

At the weekend, the organizers are planning various activities and outdoor activities on the terrace between pavilions. Therefore, the centre will offer a series of free workshops to promote healthy behaviours and habits. Organizers invited the Wroclaw Centre for Social Development and the Organisation Office of the World Games to cooperate.

Centre Made for Health kicks off on July 4 and will be open until 30 August, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Information on the latest events at the Centre will be published on a regular basis. They are also available at: www.stworzonedlazdrowia.pl/centrum in the Calendar of Events. The Centre is adapted for the disabled.
