Artur Caturian wins Grand Prix of the 37th RSS

The jury of the Stage Song Interpretation Contest awarded the Grand Prix of the 37th Review of Stage Songs (Golden Toucan) and 25,000 PLN to Artur Caturian.

Artur Caturian is a student of the 4th year of the Faculty of Acting of the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts (PWST) in Kraków, Wroclaw Branch. In the 2nd stage of the competition, he performed ‘Pielgrzym’ from Czesław Niemen’s repertoire and ‘Qrwa qrwa’ by Piotr Bukartyk. The winner received the award from Rafał Dutkiewicz, Mayor of Wroclaw.

The jury granted the award also to the Kapuczino group consisting of: Małgorzata Biela, Mateusz Bieryt, Karolina Burek, Zuzanna Czerniejewska, Patryk Szwichtenberg, Karolina Wasilewska and Marcin Wojciechowski from PWST.

The jury of the 37th Review of Stage Songs consisted of Magdalena Cielecka, Agnieszka Glińska, Wojciech Kościelniak, Michał Litwiniec and Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz

The Journalists Toucan award was granted to Adam Turczyk. The Audience Toucan – an award from the audience present at the Final Concert – went to Ewa Prus. The special award of the ZAiKS Author Association for Best Polish Song Performance (10,000 PLN) was granted by Bogusław Nowicki, a representative of the authorities of ZAiKS, to Adrianna Styrcz for her performance of the song ‘Sen psa’ with lyrics by K.I. Gałczyński.

The award of the Polonica German-Polish Cultural Society in the amount of 2,000 PLN and an invitation to participate in the 24th Rock & Chanson Festival in Cologne from 25th till 26th November 2016 was granted to Ewa Prus.

The jury of Nurt Off consisting of Kamila Klamut, Michał Hrisulidis, Andrzej Kłak, Bogumił Misala and Jan Pelczar awarded the Tukan Off statuette and an award of 10,000 PLN to the Układ Formalny group for the performance ‘Matka Courage krzyczy’ [Matka Courage screams]. The award was granted by Jan Pelczar, the chairman of the jury. The jury distinguished also ‘Pieśni dla miasta>>'<< [Songs for the city] – a performance based on the idea of Mateusz Przyłęcki, who was also its artistic supervisor.

The Aleksander Bardini Jury awarded the Master Diploma Award to Agata Duda-Gracz. The award was granted by Roman Kołakowski, the chairman of the Jury.

Awards were granted in the Capitol Music Theatre on the 21st of May.
